Aaron's 1st Communion
Aaron made his 1st Holy Communion at our church this past weekend. He looked so handsome in his suit (minus the 8 year old attitude about having his picture taken).

Photo Blog

I think I might turn this blog into a photo of the day blog for my children. I will start with Lily today :) This is a picture from yesterday evening. We all went outside after dinner. Kris was cutting the grass, I pulled some weeds out of the flower garden, Aaron played and Lily was on the porch in her jumper having fun in the sun. :)

Mary Kay
I decided recently to start up my Mary Kay business again. I tried this once before when Kris and I moved to Delaware and I wasnt very sucessful. I'm pretty shy at times and I dont like to talk to strangers. I think of my business as more of a hobby at the moment. I know all of the things I did wrong last time and I dont plan on making the same mistakes.
With any business I think it is important to start out slow and build up a customer base first. Friends, family, co-workers, people at church or school. I find that if I just let them know I started a Mary Kay Business and give them a sample or two with my business card, they will come find me when they are ready. I dont push skin care classes even though I do think they are important. One on one facials, online orders and re-orders are just as important.
I have read a lot of negative blogs and such about Mary Kay. I understand where those people are coming from. I chose to think about it differently. Maybe its because I have a career outside of Mary Kay and I am not looking to get rich off of the company. (Not yet anyway).
I'm not the type of consulant who is going to keep a stock or inventory of products. If a customer trys someone and wants to order it, thats fine, but they will have to wait for it. Just like when you order something from a store online. My sales director keeps a whole room of inventory. If I really need something in a hurry, I can contact her for the product.
I have only been a consulant for a week so far. I have sent out new business emails. Scheduled product promotion emails, and set up a facial for next week. I also posted a flyer at work and put a catalog on the table in the waiting room. I think that is a pretty good start.
